| Nên hư đặng thất của con người là một tấn tuồng nơi mặt thế. Ta nhận thấy mang thi hài, xác thịt, khối chơn linh chịu mờ ám, chỉ biết sống phải hiểu nghĩa vụ mình, không phải sống đặng thừa hưởng, từ khi lọt lòng mẹ thì đã mang một mối nợ trần. | The success and failure of humanity are a drama on the surface of this world. We carry flesh and bones, the soul becomes clouded, living only by understanding our responsibilities – not for enjoyment – from the moment we are born, we have a debt to the world. |
| Hễ mắc nợ thì phải trả, mà trả cho ai? Khởi trả cho gia đình trước. Ai là người làm trọn đạo gia đình cũng khó lắm rồi, biết bao nhiêu trở lực, quả kiếp trước tái diễn lại, phải vay trả kiếp sau. | When we owe debts, we must pay. To whom? First, to our family. It’s difficult enough for even one person to perfectly follow the principles of family, countless hindrances arise from previous lives, playing out again and we must pay them off in the next life. |
| Vay vay, trả trả, chẳng khác anh lái buôn kia trong đường đi. Muốn học làm chúa vạn vật cũng phải nhiều đường lối gay trở khó khăn. | We lend, borrow, repay – just like that merchant on the road. Even to learn to become the master of all things, we encounter many hardships and difficulties. |
| Nếu Bần Ðạo không vi chủ đặng đè nén con vật nầy, chỉ biết sống như con vật thì đã quên hẳn mình là gì, chẳng cần luận, đương nhiên nhơn loại lâm vào cảnh vay trả như anh lái buôn bị gian lận nhiều nên bán lỗ, ấy là nhơn. | If I were unable to subdue the animal inside, I would live like an animal, forgetting what I am. There is no need for argument. Humanity will be in that endless loop of repaying loans, like the merchant constantly cheated, always selling at a loss. This is the way of the world. |
| Ði chuyến khác nữa may mua rẻ bán được mắc thì được lời. Lời lỗ là con buôn nơi trường đời. | There is another journey, one where we are fortunate to buy low, sell high and profit. Profits and losses – these are the struggles of the merchant in the life of the world. |
| Ta thấy giờ nào chúng ta chẳng còn buôn lấy lời cho chúng ta hưởng mà là buôn cho Ông chủ hảng hưởng, ngày ấy chúng ta không sợ lỗ lời. | Consider how at any given time, we aren't trading for our benefit, but trading for the benefit of our employers. We don’t fear loss. |
| Nhơn quả cũng thế, ngày giờ nào ta chẳng còn là ta mà còn trong gia tộc ta, ngày giờ nào ta chẳng còn là ta mà sống cho nhơn loại, ngày ấy là ngày giải thoát. | It's the same for cause and effect: in every moment, we are no longer ourselves but we are within our family, in every moment we are no longer ourselves, but live for humanity, then those are the days of liberation. |
| Mình không vay hỏi ai, mình chỉ cho mượn thì mình ắt giàu. Ngày giờ nào mà lời lỗ mình không chịu trách nhiệm chỉ sống về nghề nghiệp của mình mà thôi, thì mình ắt không ăn thua chi với ai tất cả. | If we never ask anyone for anything and only lend, we will surely be wealthy. If we don’t take responsibility for our losses and only focus on our profession, then we’re unlikely to succeed with anything. |
| Ðức Chí Tôn cũng thế, ngày giờ nào con cái của Ngài lấy hiếu đối với Ngài, nuôi nhơn loại về tinh thần và vật chất đó là cơ quan đạt đạo, chúng ta cho vay mà không thiếu, ấy là ta tự giải thoát. | It’s the same with the Supreme Being: When his children offer him filial piety, nurturing humanity in spirit and matter – that’s how to attain the path; when we are lending and never in debt, then we free ourselves. |
| Ta thử hỏi cả bí pháp của Ðạo Cao Ðài có như vậy chăng? Có chớ! Kìa cái Cửu Trùng Thiên Chí Tôn đem phô bày tại mặt thế nầy đối với Cửu phẩm Thần, Tiên, không còn ai chối đặng, ai đi trọn thì được giải thoát. | Let's examine whether the secret dharmas of Cao Dai are like that. Indeed. There you have it, the Nine Sphere Palace Supreme Being exposes it in this world for the Nine Ranks of Gods and Immortals, no one can deny it anymore – and anyone who truly lives it, finds liberation. |
| Ngôi Giáo Tông môi giới hay thiệt? Chính Anh Cả chúng ta đã ngồi được. Ai làm được vậy chăng? Làm được chớ! | Is the Pope seat just a formality or genuine? Our Elder Brother has obtained it. Does anyone else do that? Of course they can. |
| Nếu có kẻ nói mắc lo gia đình, không thể lo Ðạo được là phi lý. Ðạo là trường học đạt đại gia đình, Ðạo là trường thi lập vị, sao lại làm không được? Tại làm biếng học! | It's absurd for anyone to say that being preoccupied with family prevents one from practicing religion. Religion is the ultimate school for the family, it's the examination hall for establishing one's position, so why can't it be done? It's simply due to laziness! |
| Học đặng hành. Nên hư do tại mình, không phải do Chí Tôn và cũng không phải tại Ðạo. | If you study, you’ll succeed. If you fail, it’s your fault, it's not the Supreme Being’s or the Religion’s. |
| Tôn giáo nào không đạt được Cửu phẩm Thần, Tiên dưới thế nầy, thì trên Cửu Thiên kia không hề đạt vị được. Ấy vậy, về mặt bí pháp Ðạo Cao Ðài là rõ ràng một nền chánh giáo của Chí Tôn vậy. | No religion that can't attain the Nine Ranks of Gods and Immortals in this world, will not be able to achieve it in the Nine Heavens. This, in terms of the secret laws, is how clear and obvious the Cao Dai religion is. It is truly the true religion of the Supreme Being. |
