We must eat to live, and clothe ourselves to stay warm. It is not easy to escape the demands of the material world and the desires of the flesh. |
| Mảnh thi hài nầy nhờ tinh cha huyết mẹ nên hình thì trí lự khôn ngoan cũng phải do nơi quyền thiêng liêng khai mở. | This mortal body, formed from the essence of father and blood of mother but wisdom and intelligence must be unlocked by the sacred power. |

Then the cultivation of one lifetime will not be in vain. |

| Cái khó của kẻ tu hành là phải có công nghiệp phụng sự chúng sanh, mới bôi xóa được oan gia trái chủ, chừng ấy cái công luyện đạo tham thiền chẳng bao nhiêu cũng tìm ra ánh sáng. | The difficulty of cultivation is that one must have the merit of serving all living beings in order to erase karmic debts. Only then will the efforts of cultivating the Way and meditating not be in vain. |

| Từ chốn quan trường lặn lội cùng đời, lo ăn lo sống, cũng vợ cũng con, đã lần dò theo ánh chí linh dìu dẫn bước vào cửa Đạo, trải thân ra mảnh áo tơi, che mưa đỡ nắng cho đời nguy nan. | From the world of politics, struggling with life, worrying about food and shelter, with a wife and children, he followed the light of the Supreme Soul and entered the door of the Way, spreading a tattered cloak, shielding the world from danger. |
| Ngài đã làm nên sự nghiệp, lại nghiền ngẫm chân lý ẩn tàng trong phép tu thiền của các bậc Thánh trước Hiền xưa, san định lại cho phù hợp với tâm lý nhơn sanh, chỉ rành trên văn tự, lưu truyền hậu thế cho khỏi điều mộng mị dị đoan của cái trí đầy huyền ảo, vẽ vời che khuất chân lý Đức Chí Tôn. | He accomplished great things, and then pondered the truth hidden in the meditation methods of the ancient Saints and Sages. He adapted them to suit the human psyche, and wrote them down clearly in writing, so that future generations would not be misled by the illusions and superstitions of the mind, which are full of illusions and obscure the truth of the Supreme Being. |
