I thought that the Supreme Being was urging us to attain the true teachings. I did not expect that five years later, the whole world would suffer a calamity. All the men and women of the religion had seen it. I believe that since the beginning of humanity, there has never been a war that has killed people so cruelly. |
| Hại thay! Koài người bạc nhược thiếu đức tin mà phải chịu muôn lỗi ngàn tội đối với Đức Chí-Tôn. | Alas! The human race is weak and lacks faith, and it has to bear countless sins against the Supreme Being. |
| Bần-Đạo rất ưu-tư khỗ-não về tinh-thần, vì xem thấy trường sát hại nhơn-sanh cứ tiếp-diễn trong nước nhà của chúng ta mãi. | I am deeply saddened and troubled in spirit, because I see that the killing of sentient beings continues in our country. |
| Nếu lấy theo trí-độ tinh-thần của chúng ta, tưởng sự tàn sát khốc liệt đổ máu, chủng-tộc ta lâm nạn nồi da xáo thịt thì do tội tình của quốc-dân thất-tín, thất phận đối với Đức Chí-Tôn. | If we follow our spiritual wisdom, we think that the cruel bloodshed and the suffering of our race are due to the sins of the people of the nation who have lost their faith and their duty to the Supreme Being. |
| Nếu thân ắt hữu-tội chỉ đê đầu cúi xin Đức Chí-Tôn giảm bớt cái nạn ấy trong buổi Bần-Đạo đang đảm nhiệm thì quốc-dân Việt-nam đã bị thúc phược muốn làm cũng không đặng, muốn nói cũng không ai nghe, vì nòi giống của chúng ta thiếu tâm đức, thiếu quyền hành chính-trị. | If we are guilty, we can only bow our head and beg the Supreme Being to reduce this calamity during the time that I am in charge. However, the Vietnamese people have been pushed to the point where they cannot do anything even if they want to, and no one will listen to them even if they want to speak, because our race lacks morality and political power. |
| Vậy chúng ta rán cầu nguyện cùng Đức Chí-Tôn, nếu thảng nhiên có lổi nhờ Ngài đưa tay giúp Bần-Đạo cứu-vãn tình-thế một trường sát hại khốc-liệt của nòi giống chúng ta, thì có lẽ Ngài đại-từ-bi chỉ rõ. | Therefore, we should pray to the Supreme Being. If we have unknowingly made mistakes, we beg Him to reach out and help me save our race from this cruel killing field. Perhaps He, in His great compassion, will show us the way. |
| Chúng ta biết rằng: nước Pháp và Nam không phải thù hận nhau, vì chúng ta nhận thấy đã 80 năm, đồng chia khổ não, đồng chịu nhọc nhằn khai-hoá, hèn có nhau, sang có nhau, vinh-nhục có nhau, cũng đã từng chung sống hai nước có một thâm tình thiết tha, không lẽ chúng ta không giải quyết được vì không thể chối rằng: "không có duyên-cớ ". | We know that France and Vietnam are not enemies, because we have seen that for 80 years, we have shared the same suffering and hardships in developing the country. We have been poor together, rich together, and honored and disgraced together. We have lived together as two countries with a deep affection for each other. It is unreasonable that we cannot solve our problems, because it cannot be denied that "there is no cause and effect." |
| Vì họ phiền nòi giống Việt-Nam về tâm-lý và tình ái vì xưa kia không có, nên ngày nay biến sanh cuộc thảm khốc là không biết phòng ngừa cái lạc-hậu xưa kia, nó không đồng tâm-lý, hễ phiền nhau thì sanh ra oán nhau, nếu muốn giải quyết cho họ hết phiền thì chúng ta có phương thuốc cứu rỗi đôi bên lấy tình hoà-ái cùng nhau lấy nghĩa thâm giao, cùng nhau chia sớt thảm, giục cái tình thân ái sôi nổi cháy bùng lên, có lẽ đôi đàng sẽ giải quyết sự chiến-tranh vô lối, vô giá trị, vô nghĩa-lý, vô ích kia được. | Because they are troubled by the Vietnamese race in terms of psychology and love, and because they did not have this in the past, they have created a tragic situation today. They do not know how to prevent the backwardness of the past. They are not of the same mind, and whenever they are troubled, they become resentful of each other. If we want to solve their problems, we have the medicine to save both sides. We must take the path of peace and harmony, and we must share the same deep love and together we must urge the flames of love and affection to burn brightly. Perhaps then the two sides will be able to resolve this senseless, worthless, meaningless, and useless war. |
| Ngày mai Bần-Đạo sẽ đem tiếng chuông cảnh tỉnh Bạch-Ngọc-Chung của Đức Chí-Tôn đặng thức tỉnh đôi bên, cho họ nhìn nhận , ngoài ra tình thâm-giao họ lại còn tình cốt nhục, có một tinh-thần tạo ra một đại-nghiệp. | Tomorrow, I will sound the Supreme Being's White Jade Bell of Warning to awaken both sides. I will make them see that, in addition to their deep love, they are also bound by blood ties. They have a spirit that can create a great cause. |
| Bần-Đạo xin thú thật rằng : Cả toàn con cái của Đức Chí-Tôn đừng tưởng Đạo Cao-Đài của riêng mình, có thể nói rằng : Chúng ta đi đi một con đường chí-thiện, tâm-lý nhơn-sanh, hoạt-bát tinh-thần, chúng ta đi một con đường mà thương yêu nhau, đồng chung sớt khổ cho nhau, ấy là cái đại-nghiệp nầy nó sẽ làm cái bửu-vật nâng đở tinh-thần của toàn thế-giới đại-đồng (Liberté de conscience) cả hai điều ấy hợp-thành là Quốc-Đạo. | I confess that all the children of the Supreme Being should not think that the Caodai religion is their own. It can be said that we are walking on a path of great goodness, of human psychology, and of active spirit. We are walking on a path of love and compassion, of sharing suffering with each other. This is the great cause that will become the treasure that upholds the spirit of the great union of the world (Liberté de conscience). Both of these things, together, are the National Religion. |

| Bần-Đạo xin nói lại một lần nữa, Đạo Cao-Đài nầy là một đại-nghiệp không phải chỉ riêng cho nhước Nam nầy mà thôi, mà có tâm-lý hoãn-huợt, người Pháp sẽ làm đàn anh đưa tay ra đó mà giải-quyết vấn-đề rắc-rối mâu-thuẩn của Pháp và Nam. | I want to say again, the Caodai religion is not just for the Vietnam people, but also for the France people. If they have a spirit of conciliation, the France people will reach out and help solve the problems and contradictions between the France and the Vietnam. |
| Vậy ngày mai Bần-Đạo sẽ đi Sài-gòn thì toàn Đạo phải nhứt tâm cầu nguyện sao cho họ mở khiếu linh-quang nghe tiếng Hạc Thiêng-liêng nầy , đặng thức tỉnh cả tâm-hồn định quyết vận-mạng nước nhà và tương-lai của toàn mặt địa cầu mà chớ. | So tomorrow, when I go to Saigon, the whole religion must pray wholeheartedly for them to open their spiritual eyes and ears to hear the sound of this sacred crane. This will awaken their souls and make them determined to decide the fate of the country and the future of the entire planet. |
