The matter with its flavors and properties, shapes who we are. Just as we see a grain of rice, we cook it, and eat it to absorb its quintessence, which is the post-heaven energy that replenishes our life force. |

| Chơn-thần là hậu-thiên-khí, ta không thấy mà chớ nên tưởng rằng không có, ta ăn hột cơm vào bụng, lọc lấy cái tinh-ba làm huyết khí để nuôi lấy khối sanh vật nầy. | The spirit is the post-heaven energy. We cannot see it, but we should not think that it does not exist. When we eat a grain of rice, it is digested and the quintessence is extracted to form blood and energy to nourish our body. |

| Vì họ thấy hình ảnh của khí chất biến hình, năng minh năng ẩn, mà sự ẩn hiện ấy lấy làm lạ và trái với mắt phàm thường thấy, nên làm cho họ sợ. | Because they see the imange transformed from the energy, which can be visible or invisible. This visibility and invisibility is strange and contrary to what ordinary eyes see, so it scares them. |

| Các đấng ấy rất may mắn gặp những dịp để an ủi tâm hồn chúng sanh, hằng giờ hằng buổi không thiếu tình thương. | These beings are very fortunate to have opportunities to comfort the souls of living beings, and their love is constant. |
| Chúng ta đến làm người, cốt yếu đạt cho được cơ tạo đoan trở nên Chí-Linh chí Thánh, một kiếp học thêm một bực, để ngày kia mong mỏi làm Trời. | We come to be human beings with the ultimate goal of reaching the level of perfect soul or perfect divine. With each lifetime, we learn and raise our level, with the aspiration of one day becoming a God. |
| Các bạn biết Phật Thích-Ca xưng là Bổn-Sư, người Tu gọi là Thầy, nếu các chơn linh ấy gặp được, thấy được gần được Phật thì đối với Phật không ngoài mức bạn thân ái. | You know that Shakyamuni Buddha is called the "World Honored One," and those who practice Buddhism call him Master. If these souls were to encounter, see, or be near the Buddha, their relationship with him would be no different from that of close friends. |
| Ở thế nầy dầu một vị Phật cũng không chê ai, không hạng nào chê, hạng nào khen, vì Phật đã biết con đường đi trước kia, dầu ai phạm, dầu ai lạc hậu cũng tới sau, họ chỉ biết một điều là chỉ từ nẻo quanh co, vui vẻ chỉ cho bạn đi cùng đường đạt lên Phật vị. | In this world, even a Buddha does not criticize or rank anyone. There are no categories of good or bad. The Buddha already knows the path ahead. No matter who makes mistakes or who falls behind, they will eventually reach it. They only know one thing: to guide you away from the winding paths and joyfully show you the way to reach Buddhahood. |
| Họ không dám chê ai, chẳng phải đối với loài người mà thôi mà đối với tất cả van-loại, chúng-sinh chỉ là anh em còn lạc-hậu đó vậy. | They do not dare to criticize anyone, not only towards humans but also towards all living beings. They see all living beings as their younger brothers who have yet to progress. |
| Con vật mà ta thấy bị giết được là vì nó vô cô không phương bảo-vệ, ngày nay giết nó mà ăn thịt, biết đâu sau nầy các bạn lạc-hậu ấy tiến-hóa đến phẩm người trở lên, rồi chúng ta sẽ gặp nó bên mình, khi ấy nó ngó ta mà cười và hỏi: "Xưa kia Đức-Phật có ăn tôi một lần ". Nghĩ tưởng chẳng gì sỉ hổ thẹn thuồng bằng. | The animals that we see being killed are because they are defenseless. Today, we kill them for food, but who knows, in the future, these younger brothers may evolve to the human level or beyond. Then, we will meet them again, and they will look at us and smile, asking: "In the past, the Buddha ate me once!" To think of that would be the greatest shame and humiliation. |

| Chưa có ai nhẩn tâm giết người đặng ăn thịt, cũng không có ai đặng quyền giết các bạn lạc-hậu ấy đễ ăn. | No one has ever had the heart to kill a human for food, and no one has the right to kill these younger brothers for food. |
| Ta đến đây làm bạn cùng vạn-vật chúng sanh, vạn-vật giút ta học cho thấu đáo huyền-vi cơ Đạo, tạo chí linh nối nghiệp Đức Chí-Tôn. | We are here to be friends with all living beings. All living beings teach us to understand the profound mysteries of the Way and to become perfect soul, continuing the work of the Supreme Being. |
| Thầy có nói: Thầy dành sẵn gia nghiệp phẩm-vị cho chúng ta, Thầy không khi nào lấy lại, trừ ra kẻ nào từ bởi Đại Từ-Phụ mà không tin sao ? | The Master said: The Master has prepared an inheritance of status and position for us. The Master will never take it back, except for those who do not believe in the Great and Merciful Father." |
| Ông cha phàm kia còn yêu ái con, trước buổi nhắm mắt còn tính để lại cho con một phần gia nghiệp hương hỏa. | Even ordinary parents love their children. Before they close their eyes, they still think of leaving their children a part of their inheritance and legacy. |
| Một điều là ông cha phàm làm với phạm vi nhỏ phương-pháp nhỏ theo phàm. | However, ordinary parents act with a limited scope and methods. |
| Còn ông cha thiêng-liêng không lẽ thua ông cha phàm. | Surely, the divine parents cannot be inferior to ordinary parents. |
| Thầy nói: Thầy dành sẵn gia nghiệp ngôi vị thì Thầy không quyền cho kẻ khác, trừ khi mình bỏ. | The Master said: "The Master has prepared an inheritance and position, but the Master has no right to give it to someone else, unless we give it up ourselves." |
| Bần-Đạo tưởng, nhứt là phái Nam, thanh-niên vũ-chức (có chức phận trong quân-đội) nếu mấy em biết cơ-quan ấy thì không hạnh phúc nào hơn là dám hủy mình vì Đức Chí-Tôn. | I think, especially for men, young people in the military, if they understand this principle, there is no greater happiness than to dare to sacrifice themselves for the Supreme Being. |
| Bần-Đạo dám chắc Thầy không hề chịu thiếu ai và Thầy không hề quên mối nợ tình ái của con cái của Ngài. | I am sure that the Master will never miss anyone, and the Master will never forget the debt of love of His children. |
| Nếu Thầy không thương món nợ ấy thì Hộ-Pháp hứa sẽ tái kiếp luân-hồi bồi thường cho đủ. | If the Master did not care about this debt, the Hộ-Pháp (Dharma Protector ***) promised to reincarnate and compensate for it. |
| Vì những kẻ dám đem mình làm tế vật cho Thầy để lập nên một quốc gia ấy phải thành. | Because those who dare to offer themselves as sacrifices for the Master to establish such a nation will succeed. |
| Đức Chí-Tôn tạo cho con cái của Ngài một cửa nhỏ tuy khó đi mà Bần Đạo chắc rằng, những hạng con cái dám chết vì Ngài thì chúng nó dám đạp văng cửa ra chúng nó đi sấn đến. | The Supreme Being has created a small door for His children, although it is difficult to pass through. However, I am sure that those children who dare to die for Him will dare to kick down the door and rush forward. |
| Nếu chúng ta có con mắt thiêng-liêng, ngày nào họ đi ngang qua thì ta sẽ thấy các Đấng dầu chư Thần, Thánh, Tiên, Phập tức là các chơn-linh cao trọng cũng phải cúi đầu. | If we have divine eyes, one day when they pass by, we will see that even the Superior Spirits, Saints, Immortals, and Buddhas, that is, the high-ranking souls, will have to bow their heads. |
| Thầy sẽ trả bao nhiêu món nợ tình ái của con cái của Ngài thì không biết, chớ không khi nào Đức Chí-Tôn trả cho một mà phải trả nhiều hơn là hẳn vậy. | I do not know how many debts of love the Master will repay for His children, but surely the Supreme Being will never repay one but will repay many more. |

Hộ Pháp – is the one who unveils the Mystery of the Invisible and is the Maintainer of the Rules and laws of the New Religion / Cao- Đài Religion. He is the one who pronounces judgments on the dignitaries and disciples, elevates the dignity of the fervent through their merit and brings sanctions against those who have committed faults. He is actively involved in assuring that the religious Rules and Laws which have become Divine Laws are carried out in detail, in order to keep the dignitaries and adepts free of the sufferings inflicted by the Lords of Karma.
In so acting, he watches over the positive progress of the disciples in the Way of God, and guides all evolved souls to achieve the Divine Phase of the Great Spirits. He holds control over the Legislative Power both exoterically and esoterically. (*)
